Fake parking tickets have been left on drivers’ windshields with a local council issuing an urgent warning not to be fooled by the scam.
Motorists in Hallam, in Melbourne’s south-east, have been targeted with the City of Council warning those on Melverton Drive to look out for any infringement notices.
‘The infringement notices have not been issued by our Parking Compliance team,’ the council said in a statement.

‘Upon inspection of the ticket, the barcode does not follow the same ticket lay out and carries incorrect information regarding its authenticity.’

The council shared a photo of one of the fake tickets to Instagram.
The infringement was issued on May 16 due to a vehicle parking on the nature strip.
The ticket had two barcodes and appeared to be legit with even the City of Council logo included.
The council have urged anyone who thinks they may have received a fake infringement to get in contact.
A follow up inspection of Melverton Drive was scheduled for last Friday but the outcome is unknown.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted the City of Casey Council for further comment.
