Cincinnati Shame 3: City Councilwoman Says Couple 'Begged For a Beatdown'

Cincinnati is reputed to be a nice city. Not having been there, I can’t say for sure, but certainly it is no Chicago in the 2020s. 

But if so, I can’t imagine it will stay that way, given the sorry state of its political leaders. At best–say, the mayor–the leaders are studiously avoiding the horrific crime in which a gang of thugs beat a couple while laughing and broadcasting their depravity to the world–and at worst–a City Councilwoman–they say that the couple deserved it and she is happy that it happened. 





Cincinnati is an amazing and spectacular City. It deserves political leadership that matches the greatness of its citizens.

We need and deserve change.

The reaction to the incident on the part of leftists is clearly motivated by their view of what race relations should look like. Since the offenders were black and the victims white, it is either a non-story or another example of racial justice being done. 

Had the races been reversed, we would be in a long national conversation on how evil white people are and the city fathers and mothers would be calling for life in prison. 





Everybody knows that, although everyone to the left of John Fetterman will deny the obvious reality. In fact, everybody to the left of John Fetterman would be part of the mob baying for the blood of a white crowd assaulting defenseless black victims, decrying white supremacy. 

But the rules are different for the races–which is the definition of racism, by the way. Rather than everybody being equal before the law, in contemporary America, some racial groups are always victims, others always oppressors. And “social justice” is beating up innocent people for sport. 

No doubt I will be accused of racism for saying this, and no doubt every single person who will do so knows that I am right. They just agree that white people have it coming. Many of them will say so in other contexts, and Cincinnati Councilwoman Victoria Parks was merely saying aloud what so many of them believe as the victims were still unconscious. 

An Ohio city council member disturbingly claimed that the victims of the Cincinnati downtown brawl were asking to be assaulted during the ruthless mob attack.

“They asked for that beatdown,” Cincinnati Councilwoman Victoria Parks replied to video of the July 27 brawl on Facebook.

“I am grateful for the whole story,” she added.

The 67-year-old Democrat angered Cincinnati’s police union boss, who blasted Parks for the comments and called for her resignation.





The police union president may be upset, but it’s pretty clear that the DEI-obsessed police chief agrees with the City Councilwoman. After the incident, she was angry–that people got to see what happened, not that the beatdown happened in the first place. She was enraged that we saw her shame. 

I would ask, “What is WRONG with these people?” but unfortunately, we all know exactly what it is. It is the sickness at the heart of DEI, and the normalization of hatred for white people. 

No, I don’t feel victimized by this hatred, except emotionally. I am not a fan of universalizing victimhood, and I think that, practically speaking, most white people are not plagued by the physical or economic effects of this ideology. If we live in suburbs, don’t work in big corporations that routinely deprecate whites and promote others based on race, or aren’t on our way to an elite school, it is more the erosion of our culture that affects us. 





Children are more likely to be victims of this than most adults because of the inherent racism of the new order. As a 61-year-old who avoids the inner city, my life is largely unaffected. I am appalled not because this behavior and these attitudes harm me, but because the behavior and attitudes are appalling. 

Yet it is enraging. Watching the elite in America systematically destroy America by normalizing barbarity. There are no circumstances under which you can excuse what we all saw on video. There is no “context” that makes it OK. There is no racial slur–and we have zero reason to believe anybody said anything to start the confrontation–that justifies a gang of thugs beating a middle-aged couple. 

Nobody “begged” for a beatdown. Yet a City Councilwoman in a major American city celebrated it. 

Montianez Merriweather, 34, Dekyra Vernon, 24, and Jermaine Matthews, 39, were all slapped with charges including felonious assault and aggravated riot.

Police alleged Merriweather and Matthews coordinated the “ambush” attack as they were on Elm and Fourth streets.

“Ultimately, we do have on video Mr. Merriweather walking up to co-defendant. He whispers something to him, then walks back behind the victim,” a Cincinnati police detective testified in court Wednesday, according to WXIX.

“As to Merriweather’s involvement in this, we believe he coordinated this with Mr. Matthews. He walked up to him on the video, whispered something to him and then strategically placed himself behind the victim as the assault began,” the detective added.





All the evidence suggests that this was a planned assault. The couple was a target of opportunity. 

The extent of their “begging for a beatdown” was availability. 

What is WRONG with these people? The three letters that describe their real views are not DEI, but KKK.
