Christina Applegate can’t catch a break.
The “Dead to Me” actress, 53, revealed she has been hospitalized for a kidney infection, which has since spread to both of her kidneys, as she continues to battle multiple sclerosis (MS).
Applegate recounted the painful ordeal from her hospital bed in Los Angeles, Calif., while recording the Tuesday episode of her podcast “MeSsy” with her co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
The “Married…With Children” alum said she was “screaming” in agony, so much so that she thought her appendix was bursting.
Applegate revealed it all started in Europe when she fell ill while visiting family.
After the long flight home, the star went straight to the hospital in hopes of preventing her pain from worsening.
“I’m like, I wanna be admitted,” the actress said.
“I’m staying here because I want answers. I want every test that you can possibly think of or ones that you haven’t even thought of, and I want them done,” she told Sigler, who is also struggling with MS.
The following day, she was in “so much pain” that she felt it was “radiating” from the back to the front.
“Of course, my brain’s like, ‘Oh, my appendix is bursting,’” Applegate recalled.
“I’m screaming, and they ordered me an emergency CT at 2 in the morning,” she shared, adding that the scan revealed she had a kidney infection, which has since spread to her left kidney, too.
Applegate said she remains in the hospital.
“I’m just gonna be here,” Applegate explained. “Because of this kidney infection, I have to have intravenous antibiotics right now. And that’s where we’re at.”
Applegate is still keeping her humor despite the hospital stay, telling Sigler that the doctor first thought she was suffering a urinary tract infection and questioned her wiping methods.
“Like, what am I back-wiping? Like, seriously, I’m 53,” she chuckled before insisting she has “the cleanest vagina” and is “a clean girl down yonder.”
Despite the laughs, Applegate confessed that she was emotional over the recent health setback.
“I’m holding in a bag o’ tears right now,” she admitted.
“I sometimes fall into the nurse’s arms like a freako, just like crying,” the star shared.
The Post reached out to Applegate’s rep for comment.
In March, the Emmy winner opened up about her ongoing battle with MS, which affects the brain and spinal cord, revealing she’s been hospitalized “upwards of 30 times” due to vomiting and diarrhea.
Applegate, who was diagnosed with the disease that affects the brain and spinal cord in 2021, admitted, “If I have to poop, I puke.”
Urging her podcast listeners to talk to their doctors about motility issues, the actress explained, “Because one of the things with MS is that it slows down our organs, you know, not like completely, but there is a slowing of the function of your organs.”
Applegate also revealed the emotional toll her condition has been on her family, mainly her 14-year-old daughter Sadie, whom she shares with her husband Martyn LeNoble.
“I don’t get up in the morning with that, I get up because of her [my daughter],” she told Kelly Ripa on the “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast last week. “She’s the reason I’m still here and trying.”
Applegate continued to share how her health issues have impacted Sadie.
“But she did say to me, and we got into a big thing the other day, and sorry, Sadie, but it has to be said. She said, ‘I missed who you were before you got sick,’” she added.
“That is just like a knife to the heart because I miss who I was before I got sick, too,” Applegate explained while holding back tears. “Very much. Every day of my life is at such a loss.”
