US singer and songwriter Chris Brown has been arrested in the UK over allegations he was involved in the attack of another music producer at a London nightclub in 2023.
Brown is accused of causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw at “The Tape” nightclub in London in early 2023.
In a statement to the BBC, the Metropolitan Police said officers travelled to Manchester to arrest 36-year-old Brown after learning of his presence in the UK.
”A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm,” police said.
”He has been taken into custody where he remains.
“The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023.
“The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.”
Brown rose to prominence in the early 2000s with R&B hits such as “Run it” and “Kiss Kiss”.
