A three-year-old child is dead and a man is in critical condition following a suspected stabbing in south-west Sydney.
Emergency services were called to a unit complex on on Washington Avenue, Riverwood, following reports of a concern for welfare at 4pm today.
The three-year-old’s body was found by police and paramedics inside the unit, alongside a man, 45, who had suffered serious injuries. He is currently fighting for his life in hospital.

It is understood the child was known to the man.
‘Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command attended and found a three-year-old boy deceased inside the unit,’ a police spokesperson said.
‘Police also located a 45-year-old man with serious injuries; he was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics taken to hospital in a critical condition.’
A crime scene has been established and officers are investigating.
