Child hit by a car in Melbourne: Emergency services race to the scene of the accident

Police are responding to reports a child has been hit by a child at Mount Waverley.

Paramedics were called to the eastern suburb around 8am on Friday after a teenage male was struck by a car.

The male was rushed to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

He remains in what is believed to be a critical condition.

Police are speaking to residents on the scene with diversions on High Street Road.
