A man has been charged for his alleged role in a conspiracy to murder six men – five of whom are “high-profile” – in two separate occasions.

Strike Force Newnham was launched in 2019 to investigate the members and associates of two well-known organised crime networks and their alleged activities across Sydney.

An investigation into an alleged carjacking and conspiracy to murder a man in North Sydney in 2021 has led to charges being laid against three men.

Two additional arrest warrants have been issued for men overseas.

Simultaneously, detectives attached to Strike Force Tromperie were probing an alleged conspiracy to murder five high-profile men.

Taskforce detectives have already charged three men and they remain before the courts.

Today, a 29-year-old man was identified and arrested at a correctional facility over his alleged involvement.

He was charged with conspire and agree to murder and knowingly direct activities of a criminal group.

He was refused bail to appear in Campbelltown Court tomorrow.
