The little dog, named Ollie, was given the fright of its life after the roo – spotted on camera at the home in South Morang yesterday – bounced over the fencing and crash landed on the pavement.

Ollie can be seen initially running away in fear before curiosity gets the better of it and is then seen returning back to investigate.

The two animals then briefly circle the perimeter of the yard before the dog escapes down a set of stairs to safety.

Despite the brief excitement, neither roo nor pooch was injured during the ordeal.

The owners of the Melbourne property confirmed that Ollie is safe and well and the kangaroo was released safely back into the wild.
