A 15-year-old student at the school said the incident was a scary situation.
‘We shouldn’t have to come to school and [had to] fear for our lives … school is meant to be a safe place for us where we should learn and grow as people and not be harmed,’ she told the ABC.
‘Two boys in my class were talking about it. And at first I thought it wasn’t real, because the school hadn’t evacuated us.
‘And then eventually we saw cops outside, roaming the open area, and then we realised that it might be true.
‘When the bell went, we went to go see where it was and it was cops everywhere. Then we kind of realised, ‘oh, this is happening, this is real’.
Police said there is no threat to the school or the wider community and the situation is contained.
