In the teaser for Cardi B’s NYX commercial, the rapper examines a tube of the brand’s Duck Plump lip gloss and says, “That’s suspicious. That’s weird.” Sound familiar? After applying the gloss to her pink lips, the teaser comes to a close with her distinctive chuckle. The social media reenactment is everything we wanted…and more.
Denée Pearson, global brand president of NYX, said in a press release, “For our 25th year, we wanted to make history with our first-ever Big Game commercial and our first major celebrity partnership.” She gushed, “There is no better partner than Cardi B — a global icon who is both a major makeup lover and trendsetter.”
Cardi B’s NYX commercial will debut during the February 11 Super Bowl game’s second half. An extended cut will then be posted on the brand’s social channels. In the meantime, NYX has boosted the hype by releasing the ‘Cherry Spice’ Duck Plump shade that Cardi B applied in the commercial teaser. We’re pumped! (or should we say plumped?)
