Balgowlah stabbing: Two people rushed to hospital

The body of a fisherman is believed to have been found in a remote fishing spot after days of desperate attempts to find the missing man.

Police and State Emergency Service personnel are attempting to recover the body from an ‘an extremely difficult position within a rock formation’ off the coast of Cape Arid, east of Esperance in Western Australia.

The 36-year-old had slipped off of rocks while fishing near the mouth of the Thomas River with a relative about 2pm on Saturday, sparking a major search effort.

Boats, jet-skis and aircraft scoured through the water and coastline over the following two days to no success.

WA Police confirmed the family of the fisherman have been notified.

More to come.
