A massive clean-up is underway after a bus collided with a cement truck and crashed into two homes on the Mornington Peninsula this morning.
A dozen people were onboard the bus when it crashed on Dromana Parade at Safety Beach, south of Melbourne, about 11am.
Tim Green’s family owns one of the affected properties and said the damage looked to be extensive.
“I received a phone call to say there was a bus in our living room,” Green said.
“My father built this house and it will get fixed.
“Everything is repairable but it won’t be cheap.”
Acting Sergeant Steve Newland said 12 people were on the bus, two in the truck, and said no occupants were inside the impacted homes at the time.
“It’s very lucky these houses are holiday rentals and no one was occupying them at the time,” Newland said.
The truck was travelling north on Prescott Avenue when it collided with the bus.

Police believe the collision caused the bus to crash through a front fence of a house on Prescott Avenue before clipping its roof.
It continued to crash through another fence before hitting a house, causing extensive structural damage.
The 44-year-old bus driver and a 17-year-old passenger were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
They remain at Frankston Hospital in a stable condition.
Another passenger suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
The 32-year-old truck driver was uninjured and is assisting police with their enquiries.
A significant emergency service presence remains on the scene including four CFA units, SES, police and Ambulance Victoria.
Safety Beach is located 56km south of Melbourne.
Police will continue to investigate.
