A bus driver has been rushed to hospital after a collision between the vehicle and a garbage truck in Sydney’s north-west.
The early morning collision occurred on Hawkesbury Valley Way at Windsor about 6am Friday.
The bus driver, 42, was trapped inside the wreckage and had to be freed by NSW SES crews.
He was treated by paramedics for leg injuries and taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
The truck driver and a number of passengers onboard the bus escaped injury.

Aerial footage shows extensive damage to the bus, including the front windscreen and driver window.

Hawkesbury Valley Way was closed in both directions between Gosper St & Cox St/Moses St.
All westbound lanes remain closed with heavy traffic in the area.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area, use an alternative route and allow extra travel time.

Several bus routes have also been diverted.
The collision happened just three days after a horror collision between a truck and a school bus packed with children on Melbourne’s outskirts.
The truck driver Jamie Robert Gleeson has been charged over the crash while seven children remain in hospital with serious injuries.
