Astonishing footage has emerged of a wild road rage brawl that brought peak hour traffic to a standstill on a busy road.

Two drivers were captured trading blows in the middle of the road near the corner of Bundall Road and Slatyer Avenue at Bundall on the Gold Coast, shortly before 8am on Thursday.

The footage filmed by another motorist showed a man wearing a yellow hi-vis shirt getting out of a four-wheel drive.

Seconds later, the driver of a sedan parked next to the four-wheel drive emerged and an altercation ensued.

The man wearing hi-vis briefly lost his balance as all hell broke loose between the two men.

At one point, the man in the hi-vis held the other man up against the four-wheel drive as several other drivers attempted to intervene.

The men were eventually separated from one another.

Several drivers were heard sounding their horns as traffic banked up on the roadway as a result of the incident.

The footage has since gone viral on social media, where shocked viewers expressed their disbelief.

‘Omg grow up,’ one wrote.

Another added: ‘Stupid. Irresponsible. Dangerous to all on the road including themselves.’
