A gunman is on the loose in Melbourne’s north after a young man was shot while reportedly trying to run down a group of people.
Emergency services were called to a house in Meadow Heights before 7pm on Monday after a 20-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his torso.
He was rushed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Police are now investigating whether a shooting at nearby Broadmeadows is linked.

The 20-year-old shooting victim reportedly became caught in a dispute with a group of young people in Broadmeadows.
Witnesses claim he smashed his car through a fence at a house where the group was before he tried to run them down, the Herald Sun reported.
It’s understood that is when the man was shot.
A witness said the group of people appeared to be aged between 18 and 23.
