Brittany Higgins has revealed her baby is in hospital undergoing surgery.
‘Our sweet Freddie is in hospital having surgery,’ she wrote on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon.
‘I’ve never been more grateful to live in Australia and have access to our world class public healthcare system.
‘Huge thank-you to the doctors and nurses who are taking care of our little angel.’
The post was flooded with well wishes for seven-week-old Frederick Leon Sharaz.
‘Sending so much love,’ Olympic swimmer Libby Trickett wrote.
‘One very loved little boy, and two amazing parents he is so lucky to have looking out for him,’ a second commented.
Higgins announced the birth of her first child with her husband David Sharaz in a heartwarming Instagram post on March 2.

The newborn was seen wrapped in a pink blanket and sleeping in a cot.
‘Last night we welcomed our little boy into the world,’ she wrote.
‘A huge thank-you to the amazing midwives, nurses and doctors for their care and kindness. We’re both looking forward to getting to dote on the newest member of the family – forever grateful for all the love and support we’ve received.’
The couple were married on the Gold Coast last June after getting engaged at Cape Byron Lighthouse in Byron Bay, NSW, on New Year’s Eve in 2022.
The baby’s full name was revealed for the first time on Easter Sunday.
Frederick’s middle name, Leon, appears to be a touching tribute to Ms Higgins’ personal lawyer, Leon Zwier.
Higgins in October described her pregnancy as ‘acutely stressful’.
More to come.
