Police allege a 69-year-old was standing outside his house on Ashburton Street in Bentley when three males, who he didn’t know, began throwing rocks at another home on January 5.
The resident and the group then allegedly became involved in a verbal fight.
”One of the males then spat on the 69-year-old, before a second male punched him to the face, causing him to fall to the ground,” WA Police said in a statement.
“All three males then punched and kicked the man multiple times before leaving the scene.”
It resulted in the Bentley man going to hospital with facial cuts and other injuries.
“Detectives have since charged an 11-year-old from Bentley with acts or omissions causing bodily harm or danger,” police said.
He is due to appear in Armadale Children’s Court next week.
Police are still searching for the two others involved and can not confirm whether they are adults or children.
CCTV has been released in hopes the public will be able to assist with their investigation.
