At about 8.40am, emergency services were called to North Liverpool Road at Mount Pritchard.
Police were told a 10-year-old boy had been hit by a Mercedes SUV.
The boy was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver, a 35-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Police are investigating.
