Boxing Day sales horror as teenager is stabbed at Westfield Parramatta in front of terrified shoppers

A teenager has been stabbed at a busy shopping centre and rushed to hospital in a terrifying incident that unfolded in front of onlookers.

Emergency services were called to Westfield Parramatta about 4pm on Thursday following reports of a knife attack.

Police said a 17-year-old boy suffered slash wounds to his arms and back.

Images from the scene showed blobs of blood splattered on the centre’s tiled floors. 

The teen’s injuries were reported to not be life threatening.

Police believe the incident happened during an argument between a group of ‘young people’.

It is suspected that the attack was targeted and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The teenager was treated by paramedics at the scene and then taken to hospital in a stable condition.

‘Initial inquiries indicate the incident followed an argument involving a number of young people, and believe the attack to have been targeted,’ the police spokesperson said.

‘There is no ongoing concern for public safety.’

Police set up a crime scene and are calling for anyone with information to come forward.
