Sri Lankan cricketer Danushka ‘Danny’ Gunathilaka has been found not guilty of sexual assaulting his Tinder date by a NSW District Court judge.

Gunathilaka, 32, was accused of ‘stealthing’ – removing his condom during sex without the consent of the other party – after going back to a woman’s house in Sydney’s eastern suburbs last November.

The pair met up for drinks at Sydney’s Opera Bar, had dinner at popular late-night establishment Frankies and then returned to the accuser’s home.

Gunathilaka pleaded not guilty to sexual intercourse without consent and faced trial earlier this month.

Judge Sarah Huggett handed down the verdict on Thursday.
