The body of former One Direction singer Liam Payne will be flown back to the UK after it was released to his family, authorities in Argentina have confirmed.
The 31-year-old died last month after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony in the city of Buenos Aires.
His body was released to his family today by public prosecutor Andres Madrea, the BBC reports.
Payne sustained external and internal bleeding and traumatic injuries from the fall, an autopsy earlier confirmed.
His body remained in Argentina while authorities conducted further toxicology and laboratory tests.
Payne rose to fame as a member of One Direction, a boy band formed on the British television series The X Factor in 2010.

After each singer failed to make it through the competition as solo acts, Simon Cowell and his fellow judges combined Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson into one of the best-selling boy groups of all time.
Argentina’s Public Prosecutor’s Office is continuing to investigate his death.
