Police have located a body in the Sydney suburb of Botany in the search for Jai-Bao ‘Rex’ Chen, the missing husband of murdered woman Zhuojun ‘Sally’ Li.
Greenacre woman Li, 33, was found dead on December 9, wrapped in plastic in bushland at Sir Joseph Banks Park in Botany, one month after she was reported missing.
Upon identifying her, police said they held “grave concerns” for the welfare of her husband Chen, also 33, as he had also been missing for a month.
At about 2pm today, police located a second body at Botany in the same area where Li was found.
The body is yet to be formally identified.
Homicide Squad boss Danny Doherty said on Saturday that police had seized a silver Toyota Avensis from an address in Sydney’s city.
He alleged the car was used to transport Li’s body and dispose of it in Botany.
Police released images of the car stopped on the north side of Foreshore Road 4am and 5am on November 30.
Anyone with information about the car and its movements is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
Both Li and Chen have not been seen alive since November.
They were known to live in Greenacre, near Bankstown in Sydney’s south-west.
