The body of a seven-year-old boy who went missing south of Brisbane has been found by police.

The boy, who lived with a medical condition and was non-verbal, was last seen at an address in Kingston, Logan, about 5pm yesterday.

Officers assisted by a police helicopter as well as local volunteers had been scouring the area.

Residents were urged to check their properties, including any sheds, in case he was hiding or had sought shelter.

His body was found 15 hours after he went missing, by police divers, police said.
