A man with blood-stained clothes has been arrested after cops discovered a woman’s body inside a home in Melbourne’s south-west.
Officers were called to a home on Retford Close, across the road from Bethany Catholic Primary School in Werribee, about 9am on Thursday.
A neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, said she saw a man whose clothes were covered in blood standing outside the home.
‘It was just awful,’ she told The Age.
Neighbour Darren Fudyma told Daily Mail Australia police had advised him someone had been stabbed inside a home which has been sealed off by detectives.
‘They informed me there had been a homicide which is very strange, especially in this quiet cul-de-sac,’ he said.
‘Obviously there are going to be a lot of parents picking up their kids from school and they won’t be able to use the exit here.’
Shocked locals continued to converge on the area throughout Thursday, with many wondering how they will collect their kids while the police investigation continues.

Witnesses reported seeing a helicopter overhead as police descended on the home.
Forensic investigators arrived just after midday to comb the property for clues.
