Blackpink’s Jennie abruptly leaves gig after ‘deteriorating condition’ onstage

Jennie Kim, the star of K-pop group Blackpink, suffered a “deteriorating condition” during her performance in Australia Sunday night.

The “Pink Venom” hitmakers were forced to pull the plug on their set after Jennie, 27, began to feel unwell during the Melbourne gig of their “Born Pink” tour.

“We regret to inform you that during the BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN MELBOURNE performance on June 11, member JENNIE was unable to complete the stage due to her deteriorating condition,” the group’s management company YG Entertainment said in a statement.

“JENNIE expressed her strong determination to carry on with the performance until the end. However, following medical advice on site, we immediately took measures to ensure she receives ample rest and stability.”

“JENNIE has conveyed her regrets for not being able to stay with the fans until the end, and assures that she will recover as soon as possible,” the statement concluded.

Jennie, who has been on tour with bandmates Lalisa, Jisoo and Rosé since October 2022, is currently recovering and is expected to join the trio on stage for their next show.

It comes as Jennie recently made her acting debut on Sam Levinson’s new HBO drama series, The Idol starring Lily Rose-Depp and Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye.

The series, which has released two episodes so far, made headlines this week after viewers were left horrified by a sex scene that aired Sunday night.

The footage in question showed The Weeknd, now known by his given name, Abel Tesfaye, telling a woman to “f–kin’ stretch that tiny little p—y” while she stuck her fingers in her mouth.

The show, which also stars Lily-Rose Depp and is the product of “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson, has been blasted as “comically bad.”

However, Depp, 24, has maintained a positive attitude since the show’s debut at the Cannes Film Festival despite being criticized for showing too much “breast” and “ass.”

“I love Abel so much,” Depp said of her co-star and the show’s executive producer during a breakdown of Episode 1 that aired post-premiere.

“He was able to melt into this role in a way that is really difficult for anybody to do.”
