A bull is on the run in the US suburbs after wild weather lashed North Carolina.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control (ACC) said the bull was spooked by storms passing through, which led to its escape.
Video shows the large mammal trotting its way down water-logged streets in Charlotte shortly after it broke loose.
“The bull escaped when trying to be moved from a pasture to an enclosed area due to severe weather moving through the area,” a statement from ACC said.
“The animal was spooked by the weather and managed to escape.”
The bull’s owner tried to capture the bull with a lasso, along with police officers, with “many unsuccessful attempts”.
The bull then fled to a heavily wooded area.

“CMPD gave permission for the owner to neutralise the bull if necessary,” ACC added.
Heat-seeking drones were deployed to try and find the animal but this also had no luck.

ACC have asked the public to report any sightings and urged them to keep their distance from the scared animal.
It’s investigating whether the owner has current livestock permits.
