A man has been rushed to hospital after being shot multiple times in broad daylight on a quiet street.
More than six police cars responded to emergency calls after gunfire rang out about 2pm on Sunday at Bidwill, western Sydney, with witnesses recalling seeing three people running from the scene.
A man in his 20s was found at a home in Carlisle Avenue with gunshot wounds to his back and his leg.
Police believe he was shot at different locations and walked 100 metres to a home where the occupants called triple-0.

It is understood the man may have been shot at least once in an underpass behind the local shops.
A park and a laneway behind Palms Pacific Supermarket in Bidwill Square were cordoned off by police.
A nearby block of units was also descended on by uniformed officers and detectives probing whether the motive for the shooting was an unpaid debt.

‘The man, aged in his 20s, was taken to Westmead Hospital with a suspected gunshot wound and is undergoing surgery,’ police said in a statement.
The hospital was warned to make special preparations for the gunshot victim as he had lost a lot of blood.
It is understood three people are being sought by police in connection with the shooting, although it is so far unclear whether they fired shots or ran after being shot at.
Damen Stuart told Ten News he was mowing a lawn when he heard ‘three bangs’ coming from an underpass then saw three people running.
Mr Stuart said two of the people he saw running were wearing ‘black hoodies’ and the other was in ‘a white or grey hoodie’.
A young mum, Chantel Willis-Hayek, said she heard multiple shots: ‘my heart dropped’.

Police from Mount Druitt have established multiple crime scenes in the area which are being forensically examined.
Officers were questioning the residents of the flats and neighbours.
‘NSW paramedics were called to Carlisle Avenue, Bidwill about 2pm today where they treated a man in his 20s for back wounds,’ NSW Ambulance told Daily Mail Australia in a statement.
‘He was transported by road to Westhead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.’
