Betty White’s Brentwood home has been torn down. White’s Instagram page, which has continued to be updated since her death, confirmed on December 10 that the property had been bulldozed, sharing a photo of the vacant plot where the home once stood. The post also confirmed that only the fireplaces remained. Of course, plenty of fans were sad to see it go, with one commenting, “Why in the world would they tear it down?” while another wrote, “Unless this is being rebuilt into an animal rescue of some sort in honor of our Queen White … WE DONT WANT IT! This is such a sad and disheartening thing to post in her ‘honor.'”
It’s not yet been publicly confirmed what, if anything, will be built on the land, but the Instagram post’s caption teased, “I promise a wonderful tribute to our most wonderful lady very soon!!!!” It’s not clear if that hinted to something being erected on the land in her honor or a digital tribute.

As for why the house was torn down? Well, it seemed the new owners have other ideas for the land, which is thought to be .72 acres. New York Post reported in June that the home was not staying with whomever White may have left it to, as it has been officially sold for $10.67 million. The property had a lot of interest too, as it reportedly attracted plenty of bids when it was on the market.
