It looks like Below Deck fans are saying bon voyage to Captain Lee. In a heartbreaking cliffhanger during Monday night’s (Dec. 13) episode, the beloved “boat daddy” revealed that he would be leaving the yacht as a result of his ongoing health issues.
In the show’s tenth season, which is currently airing on Bravo, fans have seen Lee struggle with nerve issues that have left half of his body feeling numb, making it difficult for him to walk. During the final seconds of the most recent episode, “The Thunder From Down Under,” the captain is seen hobbling into a crew meeting using crutches.
“As you guys know, I’ve been struggling with my mobility. And it’s been hard and I’ve let you guys down. And for that, I apologize,” he told his staff. “So I made a decision to leave the boat.”
Meanwhile, grieving fans have taken to Twitter to share their love for “The Stud of the Sea.” One wrote, “My heart goes out to Captain Lee. That must be so frustrating.”
Another said, “#BelowDeck will never be the same without Captain Lee (@capthlr). My best wishes go with him for finding the right specialists who can help him on the road of recovery. It’s heartbreaking seeing someone unable to no longer do the job they love. Let’s hope it’s temporary.”
“I love and respect Captain Lee SO MUCH,” a third person added. “I don’t know him personally but I couldn’t help but sob when he said he’s leaving the boat.”

“Oh, Captain Lee is gonna make me cry tonight,” someone else admitted, while another said, “NO CAPTAIN LEE I need more of you this season, you’re our boat daddy.”
Although one person said they “understand his decision,” they are “so bummed about it.”
Another fan wrote, “Captain Lee is and will always be the stud of the sea. Have some respect for the GOAT from #BelowDeck.”
While we’re not yet sure who is taking over the rest of the season for Captain Lee, might we suggest the hunky Captain Jason from Below Deck Down Under? Just an idea!
In the meantime, we’ll just have to wait and see who is going to fill his big shoes when Below Deck airs on Mondays at 8/9c on Bravo.
