An eight-year-old toy cavoodle named Flossie has been stolen in a burglary of a home in Fullarton, South Australia.

The incident occurred between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Tuesday.

“Low life, total low life,” Flossie’s devastated owner, Vita Rubins, said.

Rubins discovered the break-in upon returning home and immediately raised the alarm, alerting neighbors and searching the streets for her beloved companion, the only thing missing from her home.

Neighbour Jane said she heard a banging noise about 1pm, which may give investigators a clue as to when Flossie was taken.

Locals have been shocked by the theft.

“What can you say? It’s disgusting, it’s awful, it’s violating the home,” resident Mandy Wynne-Jones said.

“But for the family it’s heartbreaking.”

Police are investigating, saying Flossie could not have escaped on her own.

The search efforts have extended beyond official channels, with hundreds of social media shares in an attempt to locate the missing toy cavoodle.

Rubins issued a public plea for help.

“Please give her back. I mean what can you say, it’s part of the family.”
