Family and friends packed into Springvale Botanical Cemetery’s chapel today to say goodbye to Pratibha Sharma, Jatin Kumar and nine-year-old Anvi.
Close friends Vivek Bhatia and his 11-year-old son Vihaan also died on November 5 when a BMW SUV mounted the kerb and hit nearly a dozen patrons seated outside the Royal Daylesford Hotel.
Pratibha recently celebrated qualifying as lawyer and was a tireless community volunteer who delivered food boxes during the pandemic.
The 45-year-old had also been a candidate for state parliament.
Speaking at the ceremony, friend Dr Sonia Singh spoke of Sharma as someone who was a devoted mother and loving partner.
“She lived her life exemplarily,” she said.

“And Anvi was just like a little angel added. Like you will never find a family that perfect.”
Sharma’s partner Kumar was remembered as a person who exuded kindness.
“Such a gentleman who defines how a man should be,” Singh said.
Criminal and coronial investigations into the crash are currently underway.
Police are yet to decide whether they will charge the 66-year-old driver, as they continue to investigate if his diabetes was a factor in the incident.
