Ron, a Gold Coast resident and witness, told 9News “it could have been catastrophic”.

He said he was in front of the pair of cars when he looked in the rear-view mirror and saw a person hanging out of one car.

A person in one of the cars was standing up and allegedly abusing another car.

“I couldn’t imagine anything much more stupid than that on the road at 110km/h,” he said.

Ron’s wife filmed the road rage on her phone as he drove.

Police are searching for the two drivers involved in the incident and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the exchange to come forward.

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
