A woman who claims rugby union star Kurtley Beale sexually assaulted her in a Sydney pub is set to continue her evidence for a second day.
Beale, 35, is facing a NSW District Court trial charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent and two counts of sexual touching related to an alleged assault on the woman at the Beach Road Hotel in December 2022.
The former Wallabies playmaker has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The complainant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to resume her evidence in chief on Tuesday after taking the stand on Monday when she detailed allegations that Beale touched her bottom and forced oral sex.
The woman told the jury a “heavily intoxicated” Beale touched the bare skin of her bottom in a main bar area, and later grabbed her head and thrust his penis forcefully into her mouth inside a locked cubicle in the men’s toilet.
She had not previously met the rugby player but had followed him on Instagram, the court has heard.
Beale’s barrister Margaret Cunneen SC has told the jury there was no force involved and the defence case was that the complainant consented.
Ms Cunneen has urged the jury to consider the woman’s honesty and reliability when she gives evidence.
