Several batches of over-the-counter medicines sold by Caruso’s have been recalled over suspected tampering.

Certain products containing Caruso’s Natural Health’s Wee Less and Bloat Eze capsules and Ashwagandha 7500 tablets were recalled by the company, TGA reports.

TGA said suspicious unknown capsules different in appearance to the ones sold in Caruso’s containers had been discovered in the products.

The exact nature and origin of the unknown capsules is yet to be determined and the risk to consumers is unknown.

“From a preliminary investigation, it appears that the unknown capsules could contain cocoa powder and probiotics,” TGA said.

“As the potential for these unknown capsules to cause harm cannot be ruled out, Caruso’s Natural Health Pty Ltd has decided to recall the affected batches and is currently investigating the problem further.”
