Perth travellers are being encouraged to explore Indonesia “beyond Bali” with direct flights to Jakarta taking off.
The AirAsia non-stop route has opened between Perth and Jakarta for the first time since the pandemic.
The service will run four times a week from June 2.
“We’re really excited to welcoming both business, tourists and students to Western Australia when this service starts in June this year,” Tourism Minister Roger Cook said.

AirAsia said opening the route was about opening Aussie eyes to all Indonesia had to offer.
”We are promoting tourism destinations beyond Bali,” AirAsia Indonesia CEO Yeranita Yosephine said.
“Bali’s fantastic, there’s a lot of tourism demand going to Bali but Indonesia is more than just Bali.”
