An Aussie driver has called out a fellow motorist’s foolish mistake after they narrowly avoided smashing into a bridge while towing a caravan.
The man was travelling through Woy Woy, on the NSW Central Coast, when he spotted the holidaymaker in front of him making a grave error.
The four-wheel-drive towing the caravan was headed down Woy Woy Road when it made a right turn for the Woy Woy Railway underpass, clearly marked with a ‘low clearance’ sign.
The underpass even has bars hanging before the bridge that warn truck drivers, those towing caravans and those carrying oversized objects on roof racks that there is a 2.5metre clearance by banging on the object without causing damage.
A video of the near-miss was shared to TikTok on Wednesday with the caption: ‘Looks more like 2.6m to me, watch this s**t’.

The man is heard yelling ‘hey mate, don’t. Don’t do it! Don’t do it!’ as the driver takes the turn with the campervan in tow.
As the driver approaches the underpass, the man beeps his horn continuously in an effort to get the driver’s attention and rolls down his window yelling ‘don’t do it’.
‘No! What are you doing you fool,’ the man says.
The man’s efforts were successful and the driver made a complete stop just before they would have crashed their campervan into the underpass.
Social media users claimed the man was a ‘hero’ for warning the driver and saving their campervan.
‘Not the hero we wanted, but the hero we needed,’ one person wrote.
‘Good on you for warning them. other people would of just purposely watched it happen,’ a second person commented.
A third chimed: ‘Bro just saved him a couple grand’.
Others noted the underpass was notorious in the area for road accidents, with one claiming it happened ‘every holiday season’.
‘Enough people have ended up stuck under this underpass it’s actually scary the amount of people who don’t know what they’re towing’ one person wrote.
‘This bridge has claimed more caravan air vents and solar panels than any other bridge in Australia,’ a second person added.
‘I’ve seen heaps of caravans loose their AC from going under there one even made it rip open like a tin can,’ a third commented.
