At least five people – including three cops – were injured by an out-of-control driver in Midtown Manhattan early Monday morning, blocks away from Times Square’s New Year’s Eve festivities.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. at 7th Avenue and West 34th Street, the NYPD said – just 10 blocks from where a million revelers had watched the New Year’s Eve ball drop an hour and a half earlier.
When officers tried to intervene in a dispute, a man fled the scene in his car, striking several marked police cars and three officers.
Two officers were treated on the scene and one was hospitalized with minor injuries, police said.

A woman was pinned against a food truck by the driver, who was also injured, officials said.
Both were taken to Bellevue Hospital, according to the NYPD.
Three vehicles — two black sedans and a taxi cab — were among the wrecked vehicles found at the scene.
