A man will face court after allegedly trying to shoot another man dead in Logan, Queensland, yesterday evening.

Police will allege an argument broke out between two men at Clarendon Avenue, Bethania, at about 5.55pm.

The men are believed to be known to each other.

A 62-year-old man is accused of shooting a 35-year-old man twice, once in the shoulder and once in the chest.

The 35-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

The 62-year-old man had been charged with attempted murder, intending to cause grievous bodily harm, and failing to store a weapon securely.

He will appear in court on Monday.
