A tradie has helped police find his stolen ute full of tools because he put an Apple AirTag on his keys.
Trent Morey heard his Nissan Navara hitting garbage bins at 3am in the Adelaide suburb of Seaford Rise as it was allegedly being stolen.

However, the man’s Apple AirTag tracking device on his keys led him and police to the vehicle on nearby Telegraph Road.

They’d allegedly been stolen from his caravan.

“I got an AirTag for my birthday last month that has an app through Apple. We managed to get the app up and work out its last location,” he said.

Police said the car had already been abandoned but police dog Rusty found three boys, aged 14, 19 and 13, nearby.

They were arrested.

All three have been charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and theft.
