An Oklahoma mom has been sentenced to 15 years behind bars for allowing her ex-boyfriend to rape and impregnate her 12-year-old daughter.
Desiree Castaneda, 35, had allowed her 24-year-old ex Juan Miranda-Jara to live with her daughter after they split — and even threw them a baby shower after the youngster was expecting, according to Fox 23.
The pedophile dad-to-be was arrested at the hospital while the abused girl was in the middle of labor, and he was later sentenced to 20 years in prison for first-degree rape.
The sick mom was sentenced to 15 years last week after pleading guilty to enabling child sexual abuse and child neglect.
“The facts of this case are incredibly sad,” the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
“Children should be able to rely on their parents for protection from people like Juan Miranda-Jara.
“For Desiree Castaneda to allow this to happen to her daughter is appalling.”
The pre-teen arrived at a Tulsa hospital in June 2021 already in labor, with rapist dad Miranda-Jara expressing his excitement at becoming a father, police have said.

They “walked in just like any other couple would, excited to deliver their newborn child,” Tulsa police spokesman Danny Bean told Fox 23 in 2021.

Miranda-Jara appeared surprised at his arrest because the relationship — which was also Faceook official — had the approval of the girl’s mom, whom he’d previously been in a relationship with, police said.
The girl’s father was in prison for a separate sex crime and has no involvement in his daughter’s life, police said.
Miranda-Jara was convicted of first-degree rape in March 2022. Around the same time, Castaneda was arrested on child neglect and one count of enabling child sexual abuse. She pleaded guilty to the charges in late September and waived her right to a trial.

Miranda-Jara is currently serving a 20-year sentence but will be eligible for parole after 17 years.
Both must register as sex offenders on their release.
“Both defendants in this case are facing the consequences of their actions and will spend time in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections,” the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office said.
“Our hope is the victim in this case will be able to put this awful chapter behind her.”
