Anthony Koletti, the husband of late conwoman Melissa Caddick, has been charged with allegedly assaulting a 73-year-old-woman.

Police allege the incident occurred in Vaucluse in Sydney’s east last Wednesday, not far from where Caddick vanished without a trace.

Koletti, 43, attended Waverley Police Station at 6.30pm on Wednesday, where he was charged with one count of common assault.

On the day of his shock arrest, the hairdresser was working as usual, applying foils to a client at Anthony Talbot salon in Rose Bay.

Koletti appeared to be the only employee working in the salon at the time.

The part-time DJ is the ‘specialist in colour’ at the high-end salon and reportedly charges up to $156 for a cut and style.

Daily Mail approached Koletti outside the salon, hours before he handed himself in to police.

‘I am working right now and do not want to speak,’ he said.

Koletti also refused to answer a reporter’s questions when he was confronted by television crews.

Police allege the elderly woman was assaulted by Koletti at about 5pm on July 23 at Lighthouse Reserve. She didn’t require medical treatment.

She reported the incident two days later and on Tuesday, NSW Police launched a public appeal to identify a man they wished to speak to in relation to the alleged assault.

Police released a photo of the man wearing a black Under Armour shirt, cap and sunglasses while strolling through a park in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Koletti has been bailed to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on September 5.

Koletti lived a lavish life with Caddick, funded by the $23million she scammed from dozens of clients, including family and friends, before she vanished without a trace on November 12, 2020.

She disappeared one day after ASIC investigators and Australian Federal Police officers raided her home at Dover Heights.

Three months later in February 2021, Caddick’s severed right foot matched by DNA, was found in a shoe washed up on a beach south of Tathra, about 500km from where she was last seen alive.

It’s believed she jumped from the cliffs near her home, but the coroner was unable to determine her cause of death due to a lack of evidence.

In May 2023, a coroner ruled that Caddick was dead but was unable to determine the  cause due to a lack of evidence.

Caddick’s teenage son, from her first marriage, is mostly under Koletti’s care.

The pair share an apartment in Vaucluse and the teenager studies at university.

Last November, Koletti opened up about his wife’s disappearance to a magazine.

‘The emotional pain is a million times harder than anything else I lost. I’m still not over it,’ he told Woman’s Day.

‘I’ll never get over the way I lost Melissa.’

Koletti claimed he was also a victim of Caddick and did not know of her large-scale con until the investigation into her crimes was underway.

A $4.25million compensation payout was shared between 55 of Caddick’s victims last August.

The funds were collected from the sale of her assets, include the mortgaged $9.8million Dover Heights home.
