Much like my foolish schoolgirl crush on Scott Bessent…ooooh, give me a minute…I have also rapidly developed intense feelings of admiration for the interim United States Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill ‘Gah-RROOWWLLLL’ Essayli.





A former GOP member of the California State Assembly, Essayli was tagged somehow by Trump to handle this position this past April, and man – did the president ever tag a winner.

Even in just a few months on the job, Essayli has been a fiery fighter from the get-go, often appearing in Xweet streams or answering outraged progressives, especially during the recent unrest in Los Angeles. Sometimes he’ll reXweet out of the blue, and make everyone’s posturing look ridiculous.

He comes off great on the TV, too.

The one problem was that he’s the ‘interim’ US Attorney.

That’s a temporary position with a limited run, and Essayli was closing in on the end date.

People who have been tickled to death with how he’s handling the Left Coast Loons have been very worried about losing this rising superstar and enormously frustrated with the Senate confirmation gridlock.





However, that wasn’t a fair complaint in this instance, as Trump had never formally nominated him due to anticipated objections from Padilla and Schiff.

…U.S. Atty. Gen. Pam Bondi appointed Essayli in early April as an interim United States Attorney appointee, which requires confirmation by the U.S. Senate within 120 days. But President Trump never moved to formally nominate Essayli for confirmation by the U.S. Senate, where he would have faced fierce opposition from California Sens. Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff, both Democrats, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The way it works is, if he’s not confirmed by the Senate, a panel of US District Court judges gets to pollice verso (thumbs up or down) him for the position. As the end of July neared, Chief Judge Dolly Gee (Obama appointee) of the United States District Court for the Central District of California made no move to bring Essayli’s appointment up for a vote, effectively stranding him. 

Essayli was this close to being out of work when the president appointed him the ‘acting’ US Attorney, which takes effect when his interim term expires tonight.





…The solution by the Trump administration to Essayli’s conundrum?

Essayli will be named “Acting” U.S. attorney for the Central District of California at 5:01pm Tuesday evening, the U.S. Department of Justice announced.

“The maneuver — which echoes steps the Trump administration took to keep its chosen prosecutors in power in New York, New Jersey and Nevada in recent weeks — allows Essayli to stay in office while sidestepping normal confirmation processes in the U.S. Senate,” the Los Angeles Times opined.

That “maneuver” is necessary in the game of partisan politics and Presidential authority.

Many Californians are glad, as the newly minted U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli hit the ground running in early April when he announced the formation of the Homelessness Fraud and Corruption Task Force a day after he took office. $2 billion of public taxpayer funds has gone missing and is unaccounted for.

“California has spent more than $24 billion over the past five years to address homelessness,” said United States Attorney Bill Essayli. “But officials have been unable to account for all the expenditures and outcomes, and the homeless crisis has only gotten worse. Taxpayers deserve answers for where and how their hard-earned money has been spent. If state and local officials cannot provide proper oversight and accountability, we will do it for them. If we discover any federal laws were violated, we will make arrests.”

You know the Left is worried about this guy when whiny publicity hound Padilla has his WAAH! on, big time.

…One look at Essayli’s record shows you why President Trump is worried about formally nominating him and, instead, is choosing to circumvent the law and the Senate’s power of advice and consent.

Bill Essayli has used his time as Interim United States Attorney not to serve the people of the Central District of California, but as an audition tape for Donald Trump, complete with partisan press conferences, unsubstantiated charges, investigations so lacking in evidentiary basis that grand juries have reportedly refused to indict, and overt political acts to go after the President’s perceived enemies.

Essayli is uniquely unqualified to serve as U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, and Trump’s egregious power grab shows you this Administration knows it.





Essayli’s record?

Oh, dear. A pithy answer to Padilla’s Xweet lays him out flat for that. Oh, I just loved it.

Bill Essayli isn’t some random stooge Trump pulled out of a MAGA hat. This motherf**ker is a first-generation college grad from Cal Poly Pomona’s Kellogg Honors College, with a Juris Doctor from Chapman University School of Law…top-tier credentials that make your sanctimonious ass look like a participation-trophy reject. 

He interned in the White House Counsel’s Office in 2008, prosecuted terrorists in the San Bernardino attack as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, and served as a Riverside County DA before kicking ass in the California State Assembly. Qualified? Hell, he’s overqualified to wipe the floor with your tear-stained Senate seat, you blubbering pendejo.

…And let’s talk about Essayli’s “unsubstantiated charges” and “partisan press conferences,” you sniveling hombre. The guy’s been busting his ass targeting cartel infiltration, sanctuary city overreach, and ICE obstruction in a district where violent crime spiked 22% in 2024 per FBI stats. His charge against SEIU’s David Huerta for blocking ICE? Backed by a DOJ report showing a 35% jump in immigration-related prosecutions…hardly the “audition tape” you’re spinning, you delusional f**kwit….

So, for the moment, another crisis averted and a good guy gets to stay on.





Trump is royally pissed at Thune’s slow walking of these nominations, and rightly so. He lit the Senate leader up on Truth Social over it.

When you have dynamite people willing to sacrifice in order to do the people’s work, they need all the support they can get.
