The partner of Sydney tech entrepreneur Andrew Findlay, who died in a tragic boating accident, has broken her silence on what would have been her late husband’s 52nd birthday.

Findlay’s body was recovered a week after he went missing following the boating accident on the 27 of July, which also claimed the life of leading Indigenous art dealer Tim Klingender – whose body was found naked except for his socks.

Police revealed neither was wearing lifejackets when their 7.8m inflatable was smashed by 5m waves off Bondi, with debris from the boat found near The Gap.

Rescuers believe the boat struck a treacherous hidden underwater rock ledge as it was pounded by the huge surf.

On Tuesday, partner Lakshi Pillai shared a heartfelt tribute to her partner.

‘Happy birthday to the BEST. Miss you so deeply,’ the mother-of-two shared on Instagram alongside a photo of the couple.

Ms Pillai owns an upmarket clothing store on Woollahra’s Queen Street in Sydney’s east, which specialises in luxurious linen skirts, dresses and pants.

The post was flooded with tributes and condolence messages from the fashion and arts community, including Rush Editor Jessica Blanch, Actress Erika Haynatz and Julie Stevanja, CEO and founder of the e-commerce platform Stylerunner.

Findlay shared three children with his former partner Lizzie Kemp, who was once married to cricket legend Brett Lee.

Last week, a funeral was held for him at St Joseph’s College, located on Sydney’s lower north shore. Friends and family came together to attend the service.

‘Mass of Thanksgiving to celebrate the spectacular, albeit too short life of the charismatic, clever, charming, creative, curious and one-of-a-kind Andrew’ a funeral notice read.

His death occurred several months after Ms Pillai had already lost her father.

In a touching Instagram post, she expressed that he is now ‘united with the ocean’.

‘In your favourite chair and wearing your shirt – I love you Dad,’ she wrote.

‘Now one with the ocean and on to your next journey. Everyone dies but not everyone lives and you lived in the moment and saw the beauty of life.

‘Something I will always treasure.’
