‘Andor’ Season 2 Wraps Filming Says Diego Luna

Star Wars fans, rejoice! Andor Season 2 has finally finished filming, according to star Diego Luna.

Luna took to Instagram yesterday to announce that production on the second season of the popular Disney+ series had wrapped.

Production had hit pause in 2023 due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, but recently resumed and principal photography has been completed. Luna dedicated his heartfelt post to the crew behind the show.

“Today is the last day of filming Andor,” he wrote in the post below. “I could not be more thankful to the entire crew for this amazing experience and the years of hard work. More than 700 people have worked on this production, and it is impossible to say goodbye and thank you to everyone individually, which is why I write here. THANK YOU for the love and the wonderful experience. See you soon.”

Of course, there are still tons of special effects that need to be added in post so it might be a while until Disney+ debuts the new episodes.

Season 2 of Andor has been teased as being even more fast-paced than the first according to showrunner Tony Gilroy. Fans will get to witness Cassian Andor’s final transformation into a full-blown rebel before ultimately joining the revolution that takes place in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Some, but not all, characters from Rogue One may be reprising their roles this season.

Luna’s message may have also been a goodbye of sorts as the show was always meant to be a two-season arc spread spanning 24 episodes. Disney, however, has not yet announced the end of the series and Andor has been wildly successful, which could mean more seasons than were originally planned.

A release date for Season 2 of Andor has not yet been revealed. Season 1 of the series is currently streaming on Disney+.
