An Aussie mum was devastated to find an unexpected surprise in the Kmart package she bought through click and collect ahead of Christmas.
The mum ordered a $70 Bluetooth portable speaker with lights, but when she opened the box she was shocked to find six unmatched ‘used shoes.’
Many Kmart fans were shocked by the bizarre find while others claim to have experienced the same issue themselves.
Others believe thieves are stealing items from the store and returning the empty box filled with trash.

‘Bought this portable speaker online through click and collect, but when I open the box there’s used shoes in the box and no speaker,’ the shocked mum said when she uploaded her post to a Facebook group.
The mum didn’t notice that the box weighed less than a speaker would normally.
‘I was holding other stuff so didn’t notice the difference but the weight of these shoes would be about same, there’s was six odd shoes in the box.’
She said the story was so ridiculous she nearly had a ‘full mental breakdown’ worrying staff wouldn’t believe her.
A Kmart spokesperson told FEMAIL they are ‘disappointed’ to hear of the experience and asked the shopper to reach out to them directly.
‘We want everyone shopping with us, either in store or online, to have an enjoyable shopping experience,’ they said.

‘We would welcome the opportunity to speak to the customer directly and encourage them to reach out to our customer service team.’
Several people had their own theory about what happened.
‘I’d say they bought the speaker then returned it with the shoes in it and got their money back and nobody checked the box when it was returned,’ one woman guessed.
Some unfortunate customers had experienced the situation themselves.
‘This happened to my son when he bought a phone. Inside the box were dirty socks and rocks. Apparently people buy it, take out the item, fill the box with cr*p and reseal it and get a refund,’ one mum said.
‘Omg, this happened to us a couple of Christmas’s ago! Instead of a opening a scooter on Christmas Day my son opened up a box of wood and rubbish. It was supposed to be a present from Santa too. Thank goodness you found it before Christmas Day!’ one mum commented.
One retail worker said ‘people return rubbish and seal it up’ all the time.
‘I never ever refund until I look inside. They get very nervous and say, it’s not been opened and I say, my job is on the line if I don’t check. Usually they just walk out very quickly and I know its fraudulent,’ she said.
