Amy Robach’s ‘20/20’ Co-Anchor David Muir “Wants No Part” of Cheating Drama with T.J. Holmes

Amy Robach’s 20/20 co-anchor David Muir “wants no part” of the drama surrounding her alleged affair with GMA3 co-host T.J. Holmes. Robach, who joined Muir at the investigative news program in 2018, has been the center of plenty of tabloid gossip since news first broke of her alleged relationship with Holmes late last month.

Now, sources tell Page Six that Robach “fought so hard to become co-anchor” and “she’s a serious hard news journalist,” but unfortunately, her work is being overshadowed — and Muir, 20/20 host since 2013, is “not having it.”

A source told the outlet that Muir is uninterested in the controversy surrounding Robach’s alleged affair, explaining, “He’s the face of the evening news and nothing about him ever makes it into the papers. He’s very private and no one at ABC likes the way Amy and T.J. handled it.”

And he’s not the only one. The outlet also reports that “every anchor is upset that Amy and T.J. have caused such drama” and “no one wants to be associated” with the scandal.

An ABC News spokesperson told Page Six, “David is focused on the work, not any of this.”

When reached for comment by Decider, reps for ABC did not immediately respond.

Last week, both Robin Roberts current GMA anchor and Gayle King – a former GMA correspondent and current CBS host shared their thoughts on the Holmes and Robach news.

Roberts is reportedly “furious” over the situation, which she described as “messy” and said is “tainting the brand,” per The Daily Mail. She claims to have told Holmes and Robach to “knock it off” in the early days of their affair.

King’s comments were delivered on Watch What Happens Lives with Andy Cohen, during which she called the situation “very messy and very sloppy,” and told Cohen, “The more you read, it’s just very messy and I think it’s just a sad situation because you’ve got kids involved. You’ve got families involved. I keep thinking about that. Yeah, I’m very concerned about that.”

Holmes and Robach were both indefinitely pulled from the air after The Daily Mail exposed their alleged affair on Nov. 30. That day, the pair deleted their social media accounts and Robach was absent from the show’s broadcast; however, the next day both hosts resumed their co-anchor duties. Page Six reports that Holmes made an unfavorable comment upon their return, saying he was having a “great week,” which reportedly upset “people at the network.”

Ahead of the following broadcast on Dec. 5, ABC News President Kim Godwin called the situation an “internal and external distraction” while on a call with executives, as first reported by TMZ. Godwin allegedly said, “I want to say that while that relationship is not a violation of company policy, I have really taken the last few days to think about and work through what I think is best for the ABC News organization.”

No further plan of action has been released by the network.
