A US musician has unleashed on ‘hostile and ‘s****y’ Aussie fans after he was forced to abandon his set 25 minutes early while performing at a major festival.

Marc Rebillet was performing at the all-ages Listen Out festival in Adelaide on Friday night when he was pelted with abuse and projectiles by attendees waiting for headline act, US rapper Ice Spice to take to the stage.

Disturbing footage which has since gone viral captures festival goers abusing Rebillet while he was mingling and sharing his microphone with the crowd.

‘Get off the f***ing stage,’ one shouted.

Another yelled: ‘You’re a nonce. ‘F*** off and get Ice Spice.’

The footage shows bottles and other projectiles being hurled at Rebillet as he’s escorted to safety by security guards.

‘Got decimated tonight playing before Ice Spice,’ Rebillet tweeted afterwards.

‘This was before they started throwing s***.’

‘I don’t blame them entirely, they’re just children and my set was in the way of their Munch. Still, kind of a crazy thing to experience! Hope they become cooler adults.’

He was inundated with messages of support from fans and fellow musicians.

‘Marc, you deserved so much better. I am so embarrassed and disgusted at the level of disrespect this new generation have. Entitled brats. Learn to appreciate music,’ one fan posted on TikTok.

Former Gold Coast Suns AFL player turned DJ Joey Daye added: ‘  Very well said mate! You were easily the most talented and entertaining in Brisbane.’

His comments sparked a response from some of those in the crowd.

‘I was in the audience. It was brutal but what do you expect? You spent 15 minutes talking to the audience instead of playing music? Like? Everyone was off their face – they wanted music not a mic in their face. I love your s*** but it was a really bad set, dude,’ one woman wrote.

Rebillet hit back : ‘You have every right to feel how you feel and so do I.’

‘I spent the first 20 minutes trying to play music…no one wanted to hear it, lol. Everyone was just screaming bring out Ice Spice. All due respect but have you stopped to consider that maybe you were a really bad crowd?

The New York-based YouTube streamer and electronic musician originally from Texas is well known for his out there musical acts which he performs in a bathrobe and his underwear as he crowd surfs.

He’s currently embarking on his second Aussie tour within months.

Rebillet revealed earlier this year a fan almost stuck a finger up his bum while performing in Brisbane.

‘So far, up until very recently, it hasn’t been an issue,’ he told The Project in January.

‘Well, then in Bris – Brissy? Brisvegas? – someone tried to finger my butt.’

The panelists burst in laughter and gasps before apologised for the fans’ behaviour.

‘It’s quite alright. It’s quite alright,’ Rebillet replied with a big grin.
