When The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premieres on Prime Video in a few weeks, it’s going to launch big. Amazon Studios announced today that the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere on September 1 (or September 2, depending on where your time zone is). After that, new episodes will roll out weekly at midnight ET time on Fridays. This is great news for Tolkien fans desperate to experience the Second Age and even better news Americans who might want to start their Labor Day binge-watching a little bit early…

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set thousands of years before The Hobbit and the original Lord of the Rings trilogy in an era called the Second Age. The Elves believe they have fully conquered the forces of evil, but Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) is obsessed with tracking down Sauron to avenge the death of her brother Finrod Felagund (Will Fletcher). Meanwhile, shadows are emerging in the south of Middle-earth and a curious Harfoot named Nori Brandyfoot (Markella Kavenagh) encounters a mysterious meteor man (Daniel Weyman).

Amazon has revealed that the first two episodes of The Rings of Power will now premiere at 9 PM EDT (or 6 PM PDT) on Thursday, September 1. According to Amazon, “episodes will launch at the same time around the world, so that all fans can experience them simultaneously.” Here is a sampling of global premiere times for the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Prime Video:
