A major tech job fair for women (AnitaB) was flooded with biological men, and lots of people were angry about it.
I don’t understand why. The conference opened itself up to “nonbinary” participants. And given the current definitional confusion, how can we possibly know who is really a man, a woman, or a non-binary person anyway?

We keep being told that gender is self-identified and that nobody has the right to make observations and conclusions about others’ gender identity. If these (apparent) men say they are women or non-binary, who are we to challenge them?
That is what I keep being told, anyway. Have the rules suddenly changed? They change all the time, but never, as far as I can tell, toward anything as simple and obvious as recognizing a biological reality.

The organizers of the conference, as well as many of the female attendees, were angry about the (apparent) men showing up, but frankly, I don’t see why. They keep insisting that transgender and non-binary people are who they say they are, and refusing to acknowledge the asserted reality of a person’s gender is “genocide” and “denying their existence.”
Are they denying the existence of these (apparent) men? Are they trying to perpetrate a holocaust on the people with penises who showed up? They promote alphabet ideology, so I don’t see a problem here. I bet they would defend Lia Thomas, so why not these penis-packing job applicants?

Having a penis doesn’t make you a man, I am told. Gender is all about self-perception, and we have no evidence other than the assertions of these penised people regarding their gender. It really is appalling that these vagina-havers are questioning the identity of their fellow sisters in struggle.
Real feminists would stand by their (non) brothers.
Or, perhaps, these women looking for jobs have suddenly realized that alphabet ideology is a joke, although I doubt it. More likely they embrace alphabet ideology when it suits them and reject it when it doesn’t. They don’t believe anything except that they should get their way.
After all, they embrace the sexist idea that jobs should be distributed by gender, and the gender that should be advantaged just happens to be their own. Surprise, surprise, surprise as Gomer Pyle would say.
We could, of course, just be color and gender-blind–hire the best person for the job, quit pretending that biological sex doesn’t matter, and get truly gender-confused people the help that they need to be happier in this reality. But that would be oppressive or something.
Or, perhaps, simply put less power into the hands of the Left, which would be unforgivable.
