A suspicious fire has torn through the home where a teenage girl was allegedly beaten, stabbed and humiliated on the Sunshine Coast earlier this month.

Queensland Police are appealing for information over the suspected arson attack, which was first responded to at 1.30am today in Tewantin, near Noosa.

When emergency services arrived, the property was engulfed in flames and badly damaged, though nobody was inside at the time.

The home was completely destroyed. (9News)

No injuries have been reported and officers have now declared a crime scene while they work to establish the cause.

The house’s windows and doors had earlier been bordered up after being “targeted by vigilantes” in the wake of the alleged torturing.

“I was told they were put up to stop the vandals getting in there,” a man told 9News.

“I’ve never seen a fire just takeover so quick.”

It’s believed the home is owned by the Queensland Housing Commission.

The three girls – aged 12, 13 and 14 – were charged after a 13-year-old girl was allegedly held against her will, punched and stabbed in an hours-long ordeal at a home in at the home on March 11.

Footage uploaded to social media resulted in mass outrage and widespread anger in the state.

Police have since revealed that one the alleged offenders, the 14-year-old, has also been charged with a second attack that played out on a bus six days earlier.
